How it would work

Reads each animal's treatment history the moment its NLIS tag is scanned at the race, works out the binding clearance date across every treatment, and shows a SHIP / DO NOT SHIP verdict for the person running the draft to confirm before any animal is loaded.

Where it works well

It never loses the binding interval among several treatments, and it makes the residue picture a glance instead of a calculation.

  • Best for a feedlot animal-health manager or the person running the slaughter draft on an LPA- and NFAS-accredited operation, where several treatments per animal make the binding-interval call genuinely fiddly.

Where it works badly

It is only as right as the treatment records and the label data behind it — and a clean green verdict can hide a missing dose.

  • It reads the records it is given; it cannot know a treatment was never logged. A gap in the chute-side record becomes a gap in the verdict.
  • The binding date is only as good as the label data behind it — point it at an outdated or wrong product label and it can clear an interval that no longer holds, or apply one that does not apply to that product.
  • Weak where a treatment does not resolve cleanly to a registered label — an off-label use, a compounded product, an unfamiliar trade name. It should flag for a person, not guess an interval.
The honest test
